Too Many Altuves Award - April 7

I'm a little late in posting the first of this season's weekly Too Many Altuves awards for longest home run of the week. The first winner of 2013 is Colby Rasmus, for this 86.4 Altuve blast to center on Saturday, hit off of Alfredo Aceves to help fuel Toronto's 5-0 win over Boston.


Too Many Altuves Award - July 22

The winner of this week's Too Many Altuves award for the longest home run of the week belongs to Michael Morse. His July 20th blast off Tommy Hanson set a record for longest home run at Nationals Park, as it flew 85.8 Altuves.

Too Many Altuves - July 15

The winner of this week's Too Many Altuves award for longest home run goes to Edwin Encarnacion. His July 14th homer off Jeremy Accardo in Toronto (his second of the game, and the second one show in the embedded video) flew 86.2 Altuves.to the restaurant in the Rogers Centre.


Too Many Altuves - July 8

We have a new longest homer to feature for this week's Too Many Altuves award for longest home run of the week. Cameron Maybin's sixth inning blast off Arizona's Trevor Cahill on July 2nd traveled 89.5 Altuves. This blast flew .2 Altuves further than the previous distance leader.


Too Many Altuves - July 1

The winner of this week's Too Many Altuves award for longest home run belongs to Ryan Ludwick for his June 27th blast in Cincinnati. His 9th inning home run off Milwaukee's Livan Hernandez flew 86.6 Altuves over the wall in left center.



Too Many Altuves Award - June 24

The winner of this week's Too Many Altuves Award, for longest home run of the week, is Justin Upton. His 5th inning home run at Chase Field off of Seattle's Jason Vargas traveled 84.4 Altuves over the left-center field wall.

Too Many Altuves Award -June 17

The winner of this week's Too Many Altuves award is Mark Trumbo with this blast off of Christian Friedrich  on June 10th during Los Angeles' interleague visit to Coors Field. His 1st inning shot to left flew 84.7 Altuves.

Too Many Altuves Award - June 10th

This week's winner of the Too Many Altuves Award is Nelson Cruz. This 89.3 Altuve bomb against division rival Los Angeles is the longest of the year so far.

Introducing the "Too Many Altuves" award

The "Too Many Altuves" award will be given each week to the batter that hits the furthest home run for the previous seven day period.

The inaugural Too Many Altuves award goes to Justin Maxwell, for this 87 Altuve bomb off of Alex White on 5/28.
