2013 Home Run Derby: Michael Cuddyer

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at Michael Cuddyer.

The air at Coors Field is agreeing with Cuddyer, as he's in the midst of a career year, including 16 homers at the break. He's averaging just over 75 Altuves per home run for 2013, including a pair of 80 Altuve shots, both at Coors Field.

2013 Home Run Derby: Yoenis Cespedes

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at Yoenis Cespedes.

Despite hitting just .225, Cespedes has dropped 15 bombs already this year. He's averaging about 75 Altuves per home run for 2013, including this 81 Altuve bomb in May off Hisashi Iwakuma.

2013 Home Run Derby: Pedro Alvarez

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at Pedro Alvarez, who is filling in for the injured Carlos Gonzalez.

A bit of an all-or-nothing slugger, Alvarez has 24 home runs coming into the Derby. He's averaging right at 75 Altuves per home run for 2013, including this 84 Altuve blast into the Allegheny River against Jose Altuve's Astros.

2013 Home Run Derby: Robinson Cano

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at last year's last place finisher, Robinson Cano.

Going 0-fer in last year's Derby hasn't phased him, as he's coming into the Derby having hit 21 homers so far this season. While not known for the moon shots guys like Fielder and Davis can hit, Cano is averaging 74 Altuves per dinger this year, topped off by this 81.6 Altuve shot in Minnesota.

2013 Home Run Derby: Bryce Harper

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at phenom Bryce Harper.

He's coming into the Derby having hit 13 bombs so far this season, including two at Citi Field, even though an injury kept him out for the entire month of June. He's averaging right at 75 Altuves per home run for 2013, including this 80 Altuve bomb off Bronson Arroyo.

2013 Home Run Derby: Chris Davis

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at Crash Chris Davis.

Davis just tied the AL record with 37 home runs before the All-Star break, totaling an amazing 2759 Altuves! While he hasn't quite matched Wright and Fielder for the longest shot, he's been very consistent, averaging about 74.6 Altuves per home run for 2013, including this 81 Altuve homer in May against Jeremie Guthrie (for some reason I can't embed this one).

2013 Home Run Derby: David Wright

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at NL Captain David Wright.

Wright has hit 13 homers so far, but only three of those have come at his home park of Citi Field, where this year's competition is being held. That said, he's averaging almost 75 Altuves per home run for 2013 (a five Altuve lead over Prince Fielder), including this 85.7 Altuve shot (also besting Fielder) at Turner Field of Craig Kimbrel to tie the game in the ninth.

2013 Home Run Derby: Prince Fielder

After such a positive reaction to my live-tweeting of last year's Derby bombs in Altuves, I'll be doing the same this year. To prepare, I thought I'd do a little analysis of the 8 beasts competing this season. Let's take a look at reigning champ Prince Fielder.

He's coming into the Derby having hit 16 bombs so far this season. He's averaging just over 70 Altuves per home run for 2013, including this 85 Altuve bomb in May off Corey Kluber that left the yard at over 30.5 Altuves per second.
